- Is your friend still using the original COMM.DRV that comes with
- Windows 3.1? Microsoft has a replacement for that 'cos the original one
- doesn't work well with high-speed modems (14.4 or above). Another question for
- your friend is if (s)he has the 16550 UART chip on the I/O board. Without
- that, Windows 3.1 can "only" handle throughput up to 19200 bps reliability.
